I still feel hungover from the Kick-Off and struggled all day to get anything done. It felt like I was coding in a fog, so I tried to focus on some copyrighting for the client site rather than accessing the other side of my brain where the geek apparently resides.
The nagging feeling that I didn’t want to lose momentum had me opening the #YYCNaNo chat room window, where I discovered that EpicRobotDanni was hosting a 1-hr. word war at 9pm. Why not?
Well, why not is that it hurts! My fingers haven’t been this sore from typing since my university days. I lost again, in glorious style, but another 1,951 words is nothing to sneeze at. My little NaNo graph tells me that on this pace, I’ll “win” by Nov. 11. I have no plans of continuing at this pace – in fact, I’m trying to build up a lead so that I don’t get behind when my web project needs all-day attention.
My NaNology observation for today is: peer pressure in word wars works.
