NaNoWriMo Day 24First off, I’d like to apologize for last night’s Epic Nano Blog post. I had drunk approximately a bottle and a half of wine and returned home after a great night out with girlfriends (thanks, Liz & Jack, I needed that!) and panicked when I realized I’d failed to post my 50 (minimum) words.
So I misdated the post and said nothing of any import (but my spelling was still fantastic). I promise I will never drink and write again.
Tonight was the 8-Hour Marathon. I grossly overestimated how much writing I would actually get done at an 8-hour write-in; it turns out, it’s about the same amount I get done in 3 hours. Analysis of the cause of such a marked plateau in my productivity can come another day. It’s 3am (eternal-oh-oh-oh-oh! – for all you 80s children), and I’m done with presumptions of thinking. It was a great night to hang out with new friends and encourage them to greater word counts, regardless of what I did or didn’t achieve. The 50,000 word bell was run many times, two writers wrote 10,000 words in that 8-hour sitting, and I’m full steam ahead building to the climax of my novel.
This weekend marks the beginning of the end – the Big Push is nigh. To all the Wrimos out there – c’mon, let’s rock this.
