I won NaNoWriMo on Day 16, on my first try.
I’ve also written on 14 out of those 16 days, which has brought me into that frighteningly obsessive state that I get about anything I do with such intense regularity. Thanks to the pressure of wanting to not only win, but do the DoubleNano (100,000 words), I have been living this story with my every inhale and exhale and as such, have entirely convinced myself that this is going to be a damn good book.
Once I edit a predicted 150,000 word draft into a 90,000 word manuscript. Six months from now.
But I’m not thinking about that right now. I’m a winner, and tonight, that’s all that matters.
